armored_mother: (Now you fcked up!)
(Note: Additional Characters can be apped after the second mission... however availability depends on NPC survival)

Commander R. Ulysses 'Sirius'
(NPC) - Commander Raymond Ulysses is a longtime member of the Britannian Military who is distinguished for the length of his career and his dedication to Monarch, Empire and Service and was truly respected and beloved by his men. The Ulysses family had deep military roots and all were expected to enlist - Raymond's own sons Ervine and Halton among them.

Such dedication comes at a cost, a battle that all but began and ended on the mere whim of the Emperor Zi Britannia had taken the lives of both his sons and over a solid third of his forces. The aftermath of this battle had seen the Commander away from the service for over a month.

Despite any personal pain, he continued to distinguish himself with his command when he returned. As time passed though he noticed that the Areas - hard fought to gain - had become prone to insurgency. To that end he used his influence and various events to push for the formation of a special operations unit that would eventually become the Dullahan Tactical Unit. All of its members were under his command at one time or another, all of them handpicked for their skill and the Commander's faith in them as people.

The Commander has always done his best to look out for his men, he believed an army with strength of arms could win battles, but an army that also had trust - between comrades and between soldier and commander - could win wars.

He uses the codename 'Sirius' in combat situations.

Cora Anderson 'Ursa'
- Dullahan Unit Team Leader - More information in this Account.

George Townsend 'Dagger'
- The Dullahan Unit's second in command. In contrast to Cora, he's the calm, statistical and calculating. He isn't fond of unnecessary risks and does his best to instil an air of caution in the more headstrong members of the squad. Sometimes he's successful, sometimes he isn't.

Originally a squad leader himself, he was moving at a steady pace and had garnered a reputation for his discipline. However he soon came to blows with a headstrong son of a noble, who had a blatant disregard for authority and often believed he could ignore orders if he scowled hard enough.

When the death inevitably happened, the Noble's father did everything he could to put the blame solely on Townsend's shoulders - refusing to believe his son died from his own stupidity. The death itself is a mystery as no one could confirm the circumstances. Whether or not it was an accident, friendly fire, outright murder or even death in combat.

Demoted several ranks, dishonorably discharged and awaiting trial all in that order, Townsend was looking at a death sentence and his life could almost be measured in minutes. However Ulysses intervened, while the charge could not be completely overturned, he managed to keep Townsend from being sent to the executioner's block and back into military service. From there, he's been loyal to the Commander ever since.

The 'Dagger-Use Type' Dullahan is specced for Mid-to close range combat, carrying a heavily modified machinegun to allow for better striking power, as well as a large automatic shotgun capable of maiming armor.

Lewis Callahan 'Oxide'-
The team's demolitions expert - Defusing, arming and combat usage, when it comes to things that go boom, he's their go to man. To Oxide - the phrase 'take your time but hurry up' is a way of life. When things go straight to hell, he'll keep a straight face and keep working when others break out in sweat and start to get nervous.

Oxide was a member of the Britannian Engineering Division's field unit, specializing in to no one's great surprise - explosives. His track record was good as far as defusal and demolitions experts went, but it was during an operation where he had to defuse an IED in the middle of a raging battlefield while he was injured that brought him to where he was today.

He was unable to properly defuse the device, and when it detonated - he was seriously injured and had lost both his arms and had both legs badly injured in the blast. Aside from a few others being injured, the IED's intended target avoided harm - and it was recorded as a successful mission on his part. However, crippled as he is - it seemed that he would have no place in the military, and in a society such as Britannia, cripples would not last very long.

As he lie on his cot in the recovery ward a long way from the homeland, he found himself on the end of an interesting offer. An experiment in human augmentation with cybernetics - while it had been done in some cases, the extent of what they had to offer him was above and beyond the scope of what was currently achieved.

As he looks back, he finds that his brand new mechanical arms - courtesy of Ulysses are far more steady when it comes to having to disarm bombs - making his job far easier than it used to be. As such he easily shrugs off any cracks at his lack of actual limbs and actually takes some pride in his replacements and the amount of work that was put into them by Britannia's best.

His Dullahan unit has defusal equipment, various kinds of explosives including mines, demolition charges of varying types and shape, a multi tube rocket launcher, with the standard machine-gun thrown in as an afterthought. Its armor was also specifically designed to resist explosive damage at a 9.6% higher rate than other Dullahan units.

Joanne Royston 'Sleuth' - The team's scout. See Account for more information.

Davis Bryson 'Chips'- The team's electronics expert. Chips is an enthusiast when it comes to technology and often tends to forget not everyone can understand his highly in depth explanations behind the many procedures he undertakes. An electronic warfare expert, one would wonder why he isn't working in the background like many other people of his particular talent.

He's a field combatant because he feels that he owes it to a soldier that saved is life on the battlefield. Chips and several other members of the Britannian Military's technical division were trapped when the facility they were operating out of was overwhelmed. He and his colleagues were ordered to wipe the facility's databases and then flee - but the act itself took longer than expected and their defenders were overwhelmed.

When the wipe was completed, the room Chips and the others were hunkered down in was broken into by the enemy forces and when they discovered that they were denied their prize they wished to take it out on their new captives. Out of the nine Britannians that were dragged out of that room, only four were alive when their rescue took place, and only three ever made it back to Pendragon.

An aspiring soldier by the name of Halton Ulysses led a daring rescue, refusing to leave any countryman behind - though he was marginally successful, his cobbled-together force was shredded and torn when they stormed the captured facility, and further brutalized on the way out. Halton himself dying from bloodloss from a wound he took in Chips' stead halfway back to friendly lines.

It was after this experience that he requested a transfer into the combat division - undergoing one harsh training regime after another. When he discovered that Halton's father (No small part to his expertise) was forming the Dullahan Unit, he was perhaps the only one who went to the Commander rather than being picked up - wanting to pay back what he owed to the Ulysses family, in blood if need be.

Chips' Dullahan unit carries large amounts of hacking and electronic warfare equipment - allowing him to effectively scramble security systems, data-mine enemy information banks and play havoc with their networks once he gets in. Aside from that he's very lightly armed - an assault rifle with armor piercing rounds, a sub-machinegun, as well as magnetic grenades.

Annette Howland 'Scythe'
- The team's sniper. A quiet young woman who is nervous about up close confrontation and prefers to fight as far away from the thick of the combat as possible. Her aim though is nothing to laugh at, she is a positively lethal shot - and when working together with a competent spotter - may be one of the most dangerous things on the field.

Her nervousness in close combat situations occurred during an urban combat campaign. The enemy had somehow managed to move past the Britannian combat lines and had caught her by surprise - the struggle that took place had well and truly terrified her with how close she came to death or worse. But during her attempt to fend off her attacker - when she dispatched him, her round went clean right through him... and into one of her fellow soldiers.

She earned a dishonorable discharge from the incident and was well and truly ashamed. She had few people to truly call friends and comrades, and between being thrown out and the accident - she left the base to jeers and curses.

Two Weeks after that Scythe found herself reenlisted and completely confused. Apparently the officer in charge of the base that had dismissed her from her post had jumped the gun before he got word that not only was it denied, but that she was to be transferred to another unit under the command of Raymond Ulysses. That being that, she didn't really have any real say in this (not that she would have argued) and got into line.

Scythe suffers from mild nausea during zero-gravity operations - often having to operate from stationary locations with gravity tends to do that to a person - though managing to 'lock' herself into position will ease her problems. Additionally having Appletree as her spotter has taught her to tune out distractions to a surprising degree.

Her Dullahan is armed with a large Anti-Materiel Rifle capable of putting some precise damage on most mechanized units, though aside from that all its armed with is a stripped down bullpup assault rifle. Modifications include an enhanced optical/imaging system as well as an advanced stabilization unit.

Isaac Sinclair 'Appletree' - Scythe's spotter. See Account

Brett Kendal 'Mongrel' -
One of the team's 'Front Liners'.The child of a Britannian Citizen and one of the Numbers. He's desperate to prove that he's as good as a regular Britannian despite being of mixed heritage. His constant attempts have more than often led to a smattering of disciplinary infractions - leading to even more stubborn actions - creating a vicious circle.

Being of mixed blood and having his parents living together meant a lifetime of abuse towards Mongrel. Having to deal with his father getting beaten to death by drunks for being a traitor to Britannia for sullying himself with a Number, and his mother imprisoned for drug abuse afterwards well and truly burned him. Giving him a thin skin towards any jabs at his lineage.

His refusal to accept that his mixed blood trapped him in the lowest ranks, and his inability ignore any abuse hurled his way without resorting to violence was pushing him closer and closer to being dishonorably discharged - and possibly tried in a military court. Ulysses offered him an out of such things happening as well as a way to prove himself. Mongrel took the deal, stating that Ulysses is assured to get the most out of him.

While Mongrel was nominally accepted, being on the same team as a Purist supporter led to some friction. A rivalry formed between Mongrel and Appletree - truly coming into fruition when Appletree gained his current moniker during the 'Orange' incident that ruined Jeremiah Gottwald's credibility and pushed the Purists into the mud thanks to a cutting jibe from Mongrel.

Mongrel's Dullahan is the most heavily armored of the group. Armed with a double barreled machinegun with armor piercing rounds, a grenade launcher and a flame thrower - he's often the point man of any assault.

Eliott Trask 'Dice'
- If any man in the squad has had a more close calls than Dice then they'd be called a liar. He's survived several near-fatal injuries and has dodged more bullets than he could count on the battlefield. He has an absolutely rubbish poker face and sucks at gambling despite this insane luck though.

Interestingly it was this particular problem that had landed him into hot water. A failed bet and an attempt to run out on a group of drunks soon followed by a brawl led to him being jailed. His colorful battlefield record though had Ulysses coming to post bail and recruiting Dice for his unit. Initially Dice would have refused, but when Ulysses pointed out that one of the drunks happened to be the cousin of a prominent officer in the military who'd do everything he could to make Dice's life a living hell, he reconsidered post-haste.

He has a knack of picking up on bad situations before they happened, and while he isn't a coward - he isn't afraid to be one of the first to suggest retreat when the heat gets turned up too high as he shows no interest in pushing his luck to its limits.

His Dullahan is armed with a Machinegun, an assault rifle, smoke bombs and several utility tools such as an arc welder and wire cutter. Additionally he also carries large amounts of spare ammunition as well as med-kits (he's proficient enough to prevent death. Pain is a different story) and field repair equipment for the Dullahan Armors.

Malcolm Young  'Dozer'
- The team's assault specialist. He's a man who prefers the direct approach and has a problem with keeping his mouth shut. Subtle isn't in his dictionary. There's a reason why 'Distraction' is spraypainted on his helmet.

His tendency to act before he thinks has led to many troubles, one instance being blowing an ambush and severely injuring a target designated for capture (The Op was a success though) and later causing major troubles during an interview with the Britannian News Network by not being able to shut up. This led to severe punishment followed by a dishonorable discharge.

Despite his recklessness though, his heart was in the right place and he did his best to find a way to re-enlist. Ulysses provided Dozer with this chance and recruited him for his assault expertise. Between him and Oxide, no fortress would remain closed.

His Dullahan unit is equipped with numerous short range weapons and a large collection of breaching equipment. Often whenever the team has to make a plan, his suggestion will always involve knocking down walls. All of them. The Dullahan is armed with a Flak Cannon - essentially a weapon designed to fire off high speed superheated tungsten shrapnel at targets. Additionally he is also armed with a double barrelled machinegun similar to the kind Mongrel uses - albeit a lighter design.
